Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Trainings within the scope of Component 1 of the Technical Assistance for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Support for the Municipalities and Universities have been completed with the participation of 758 trainees from 141 municipalities and 62 universities from 67 provinces of Turkey.
The training program was conducted between 24 May 2021 – 15 August 2021. In line with the Covid-19 measures, the first two weeks of the trainings were held online. As from the third week, the trainings continued face to face in Ankara.
Within the scope of 7-day training program, the participants received trainings in energy efficiency and renewable energy applications, legal frameworks, sustainable energy financing and project cycle management, moreover, they attended site visits and had opportunity to see good practices.
As part of the training program, the participants visited ITC Integrated Solid Waste Facility, Cezeri Green Technology Vocational and Technical High School, Enerbes Biogas Plant and Ankara High-Speed Train Station and they examined renewable energy and energy efficiency applications on site.
Also, site visits to Middle East Technical University Center for Wind Energy Research (RÜZGEM) and The Center for Solar Energy Research and Applications (GÜNAM) were organized as part of the program prepared for academics.
